I went shopping

23 Feb

My haul from the annual Friends of the Library book sale — 12 books and 21 CDs were a steal at $19.50.  Went looking for Jane Austen & Narnia–no luck–but I did manage to find books from four of my favorite series (including one of my favorite authors), some of which are out of print!

The gorgeous and glamorous Elizabeth Michelle and I made our annual pilgrimage to the deep-fried Great State Fair of Oklahoma yesterday, and we had a fabulous time. This year we had a little more time to spend, and did a little more planning on our events to take in, and boy, was it worth it.

17 comments are posted in reply to this one little line, including 6 offers of boots.  One shoe fits, and the lovely person who offered them went another mile and brought them to me.

Thank you, Facebook Sisters…especially Dawn. 🙂

My summer in review

3 Sep

In a word:  It was hot.

In May I experienced my first tornado working at the mall.  It’s very exciting to watch the cloudy sky go green…through a two-story glass ceiling because we wouldn’t all fit in the small exit hallways.  Once the first tornado had passed, we made our way down into the basement and found a chair, but no internet or bars on the phone because the lines were either overloaded or impossible to obtain through cement walls.  Tornadoes never usually bother me, but being so totally unconnected to what was going on out there undid me.  I’d like to sign up to not do that again, please.
